THIS IS NOT A BLOG!
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all”
Ecclesiastes 9:11
“Shall I persevere or give up?” This pertinent question is one that occurs to each of us in the face of difficulties. These difficulties may be in the form of little assignments or overwhelming odds. More often than not, the answer to this question comes in a puzzle. Here, we come to think of things as helpful that actually are not and of other things as unhelpful that in reality leaves us stronger and wiser. In our society today, the influence of the fake unit of measurement; birth, schooling, career, retirement and death has extremely governed so much of our lives making us think and believe we have “time” however this belief has been proven ironic in every form of the word. Yes, I know the societal conditioning is screaming *bullshit* but hear me out, ‘we will never be as young as we are today!’ Yesterday is a memory and tomorrow is an expectation. The revolution is today.
The Missile Man of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam said – “All birds find shelter during a rain. But the eagle avoids rain by flying above the clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference.”
When Kalam said “All birds find shelter during a rain...” he was referring to those who go back to their comfort zone when they find themselves in difficult situations. Just like the birds, they see these difficult situations (rain) as obstacles. Time to move forward? “People trying to discourage me”, time to take a new ground? “I see things I do not understand”, Shall I persevere or give up? “I give up”. There must be oppositions. Opposition is a sign that something new is coming. “...But the eagle avoids rain by flying above the clouds...” But the eagle has a strong vision, the eagle flies alone at high altitude, not with small birds and the eagle loves the storm. Achievers savour challenges and use them profitably. Just like the eagle, we could use the storms of life (clouds) to rise to greater heights.
Some of you may find this mundane and some may be overwhelmed by the success of others. The difference between the man who failed and him who succeeded is the dogged diligence and willingness to succeed. Most of the established men and women we have today did have an early dream, which they worked day and night to achieve. We all have various aspirations as humans but few have prevailed because few have put in the necessary means to make their dreams come true, these ones, we admire because of their tenacity even in the face of overwhelming odds. This is our call for a revolution. Dej Martins dreams of making the greatest impact in the history of the world via fashion. It is our dream to see the youth who are the light live up to their potentials. We can do it. You can do it. We are here now, many have succeeded and now they are up there. Here and there, surprisingly, little difference, “the letter‘t’” which stands for “time”, a component for measuring the “unremitting change and movement” in the cycle of life. We will get there in our willingness to make an impact.
Have you tried and failed? You learn more from failure than success, so do not let it stop you for failure builds character. These already established individuals, the great figures we have today in different fields of life be it in music, sport, fashion, and so on, not only thrived for success irrespective of the oppositions, acknowledged their talents at an early age, took charge of their potential in their youthful days and maximized it to the fullest at adulthood. This is the cause of the eventual effect which is their success. We all possess the potential to achieve great feats in different aspects of life, our potential can be likened to a lamp which is used to illuminate the world. Bring out your potential, light up the world.
Sadly, there is an extraordinarily high number of talented people most especially the youth, the light, who face some kind of trauma, a surprising number who feel their talents are not appreciated, some who are scared and so on, it’s the vision of Dej Martins, through fashion to make great impact upon which people acknowledge their talents and live up to their potentials. We just want to give creative power to the youth who is the light that inspires us, letting them choose wherever and however they want to illuminate. However, It is no news what fashion is to us, what may benews are the evolving trends of personal style. For Dej Martins, fashion is neither a style nor is it a practice but a life-style. It was never our first intention to become entrepreneurs but our drive to make something tangible and distinct is leading us to what we will become tomorrow. The story of Dej Martins is the story of the fashion dream. An iconic dream with the distinctive idea of originality in representing our personality with contemporary fashion. Personal style is an intrinsic character that is unique to every individual. Believe it or not, we all have a sense of fashion intuition inside of us, and by listening to our fashion intuition, we fully accept ourselves, giving ourselves the freedom to be whoever we desire to be. We’ve got the revolution in our hands. Make a difference. Dare to illuminate the world around you. That fashion dream is DEJ MARTINS. WAKE UP!
